INTRODUCTION:

  • It is a pendulous structure (Fig.1).
  • It is fixed just above the symphysis pubis.
  • It is used for sexual intercourse and micturition.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:

To describe each component of the male external genitalia.

  • Penis:

         – To identify the parts of the root and the body.

         – To identify the arterial and venous blood floor of the deep and superficial structures.

  • Testis and epididymis:

     – To identify the testicular coverings.

     – To identify the venous drainage of the RT testis.

  • Spermatic cord:

     – To identify its course.

  • Scrotum:

     – To identify its layers.

  • To recognize:

    – Mal descended testis, hydrocele, erectile disfunction and testicular torsion.
