- To describe complications of peptic ulcer .
- To recognize a bleeding peptic ulcer ie: Acute bleeding causes heamatemesis, Chronic bleeding causes melina and iron deficiency anaemia, Treatment of haemorrhagic shock.
- To recognise penetration into the surrounding organs
- To recognize perforation which leads to peritonitis.
- To appreciate the vomiting, wasting, visible peristalsis and succusion splash in pyloric stenosis.
- To recognise that long standing peptic ulcer may turn into cancer of the stomach.
