  • The earlier the diagnosis and  treatment the better the prognosis.
  • Melanoma is the most dangerous skin tumour because it metastatises

  • To appreciate that it is a biopsy that confirms the diagnosis .
  • To appreciate that the treatment includes surgery, RT, chemotherapy, immunal therapy and targeted therapy.
  • To appreciate that many recur after treatment and therefore follow up is paramount.
  • To appreciate that early diagnosis gives the best results.
